What happens when one of the highest grossing movie series teams up with one of the largest collectable producers in the industry?  Limited Edition 12” Lord of the Ring Figures from Sideshow, that’s what.  This series includes limited edition figures of Aragorn, Legolas, and Faramir.  The most recently released of this series is Boromir, Son of Denethor.  This is an excellent figure.  The sculpting is superb.  The head has a very close likeness to Sean Bean and the sculptor did a particularly good job with the expression.  He comes wearing a surcoat, tunic, pants boots and an excellent set of vambraces.  The only down side about his clothing is that his “chainmail” shirt is just a piece of cloth with what looks like tinsel woven into it.

He also comes with a full compliment of accessories.  Of course, this includes his sword which is complete with a scabbard that can be attached around his waist.  He also comes with his personalized shield and the Horn of Gondor.  Two other nice additions are a knife and a Sideshow figure stand.

Another cool thing about this figure is the packaging.  On the inside left there is a blurb about who Boromir is and what his motivation was for going to Elvindar and subsequently joining the fellowship.  The other side has little blurbs about the different accessories that he comes with.  Then, as if that’s not enough, the back has a blurb about the Lord of the Rings and Middle Earth in general.  This packaging is just the icing on the cake for a figure that I definitely recommend to any Middle Earth fan, and also to anyone who likes a good figure.  This toy gets a solid B.
