I guess the title was just a bit unwieldy but the Indiana Jones Movie Photo Cards covers the latest blockbuster film, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, in a new 90 card series. The photo cards are printed on thick, glossy cardstock that capture all the action and adventure of the film.

The first 12 cards introduce all of the main characters in the film including Indy, Mutt Williams, Marion Ravenwood, Irina Spalko, etc…The movie’s story is played out over the next 60 cards in the series. These feature beautiful shots from the film as Indy is captured by the Russians, meets Mutt Williams, and journeys to Peru to start his latest adventure. The last 17 cards in the set are all illustration cards taken from actual production paintings as well as from the Dark Horse Comics’ adaptation of the film.

Of course you want to know about the chase cards and there are several levels of them in the series. There are ten foil cards that come 1:6 packs. There are sequentially numbered parallel crystal skull cards that come 1:24 packs. Artist sketch cards, over 80 in all, come 1:35 packs and feature the talents of Adam Hughes, Brian Rood, Brent Schoonover, Matt Busch, Trevor Grove, and many more. The big attraction is the autograph cards that come 1:78 packs. Signers include: Jim Broadbent, Karen Allen, Shia LaBeouf, John Hurt, Ray Winstone, Harrison Ford, Steven Spielberg, and George Lucas. Needless to say, the last three are the hardest to find, coming only 1:68,943. Good luck!

The cards come seven to a pack with 24 packs in a box. The box reviewed provided one complete 90-card set along with four of the ten foil cards, one parallel Crystal Skull card, and one artist sketch card. Not a bad haul although the autograph card would have been nice. In addition to these chase cards there are also peel and reveal treasure cards that come 1:6 packs that are available in the packs sold at places like Wal-Mart.

What would a new Indiana Jones film be without a new Topps trading card set to help usher it in!  Gorgeous cards featuring vivid photography and well-written summaries packed with some wonderful chase cards.
