What They Say
There can be only three! Nearly 200 girls attend the athletic prep-school with hopes to attend the University Satellite Sports Academy, but with only a trio of openings, the competition is brutal! Ichi-chan had been training Akari for the final event, the triathlon, but Jessie and Ayla are clear favorites - leaving only one position open! With Ichan gone, Akari flounders and cannot focus on the goal - who will step up to the challenge?

The Review!
Well, that's what the promotional material says... what do I have to say?

The audio on this disc is pretty darn good. There's some good surround rear effects with the rain during the 3rd episode that made me pretty happy. Voices were clean and clear with no distortion or tinny sound to it.

The video continues to be gorgeous. Vibrant colors and sharp clarity abound. My only real beef with the video is the fact that it doesn't have all of it as originally seen. Yeah yeah, beat a dead horse. Whack whack whack. Kick.

I really want to rave about how great the cover art and style used for this series is, but I've got to whine a bit here and wonder just why we've now got a white keepcase again? This makes no sense. Vol. 1 was white, Vol. 2 was black and now Vol. 3 is white. If I knew where to buy white keepcases, I'd be happy...

The menu is just as we've seen before. It didn't feel quite as sluggish as past discs, but it's still a bit slow. And yes, it's still referenced as "Start Movie", thereby indicating just how this show is looked at. Pffft. I can deal easily with there being no real volume numbers on the cases. I understand the retailer fears. But they don't care about the content.

As for the show itself? I'm still enjoying it a lot. There were a few more turns to seriousness in these episodes, and the bit with Akari throughout the majority of the last episode seemed to be just too easily done in mind. Now that the fourth disc will start the new phase of the series, I'm looking forward to it.

Hopefully we'll see Akari's house again though!
