What They Say
Ancient beyond understanding, his power is immeasurable. He has destroyed half the universe and is on his way here. He is... Genma.

Only two people are aware of the imminent catastrophe - Princess Luna, a modern-day prophetess and Vega, a cybernetic crusader from a world long since ravaged by Genma. Determined to spare the Earth from a similar fate, Luna and Vega must try to mobilize the most potent psychics in the world. Together, this army of fledgling psychic warriors must succeed where billions have tried - and failed.

But will they be able to gather their champions in time? Genma's agents are already on Earth to ensure that their master meets with no opposition!

The Review!
One of the reasons that this movie made it over to the states is due to the fact that Katsuhiro "Akira" Otomo was the character designer for this movie. Beyond that, it's a fairly decent science fiction movie about an entity that's been destroying galaxies for millennia.

The audio on this disc is quite good, with many rear effects at the appropriate times, and it has a very nice classically score as well. Dialogue is crisp and clear and has less of the tinny effects that were in the Gall Force disc.

The video is horrible. Maybe it's my copy, but within the first twenty minutes alone, I cannot count how many "quick freezes" and stutters in the image there were. I actually just turned the player off for awhile before starting it up again. The disc is clean, and I've had no other trouble with any of my discs. I'd love to know if anyone else has this problem.

The menu system is similar to Gall Force, where the main menu is a bit cumbersome with what it's changing, but the submenus are good.

Overall, if the video problems are on my disc alone, then this isn't a bad movie to pick up. It's long enough, around 132 minutes, that you're getting your bang for your buck. If the video problems are on all the discs, then avoid it like the plague.
