What They Say

The Review!
The Sakura Wars Franchise has finally made its way to being a Television Series, and now this TV series is available on DVD.
The audio on this disc is clear with no problems that I could find on my sound system. No distortion or other issues found.

The video is clear, with no problems found on my initial viewing.

What can I say? Sega and Red Company definitely know how to make these girls shine on a cover? The front cover is eye catching, and the back informative enough to convince many people that this is worth buying?
The back shows some images from the show, and also has a Staff and Cast listing.

Nothing fancy here? Just selections for playing the movie, watching the promotional video, or a small chapter select. The same image of Sakura from the cover graces the background of the main menu screen.

The only real extra included on this disc is a brief overview/promotional video for the 2 Sakura Wars OVA series, however, included with the DVD is a small booklet that contains character designs and some Conceptual Artwork.

While this show contains only the first episode of this series, it is a powerful one that leaves you wanting to see more?
A retelling of the events of when Sakura Shinguuji first arrived in Tokyo and joined the Imperial Floral Assault Unit. With its combination of comedy and action, Sakura Wars TV series doesn't fail to keep it viewer entertained for an instance during this episode.
The only drawback I found with this DVD is that it only contains the first episode, and of course, the ending leaves you desperately wishing to see the next episode? The rest of the discs have 3 episodes each, but cost about twice as much?
Overall, I suggest this series as a good show for Sakura Wars fans looking for something new. For the average viewer, I would recommend this series in an instant if it got a domestic release.
