What They Say
Hot, sexy twins are the order of the day in this seductive tale.
Twin sisters, Chisato and Kuu orphaned at a young age are sent off to live in a foster home where they meet Nisama. Nisama looks out for the girls as they get older and in the process, sacrifices his musical dreams for their well being.
Years later, the sisters & Nisama reunite. With guilt hanging over the girls' heads their only desire is to pay back Nisama with some raunchy, sex-crazed debauchery that will more than make up for the past.
Years after the twin sisters are taken in by Shoma's grandfather, they return to repay their debt to Shoma.
Adult Source Media again covers its bases by providing both an English and Japanese language track for this release. In listening to both tracks, the show sports what you'd basically expect of a stereo mix for an adult title in that it's essentially dialogue driven. There isn't much in the way of really noticeable directionality but both tracks do feel somewhat louder than usual in comparison to other shows. In shifting from a mainstream release to this I had to notch it down by four to get a comparable level and even then it felt louder. Dialogue is clean and clear throughout however and we had no problems with dropouts or distortions during regular playback.
Originally released in 2005, the transfer for this OVA series is presented in its original full frame aspect ratio. The transfer for this show looks good overall which is helped by a very good looking piece of animation. The show features something of a soft look to it which appears to be intentional and is generally free of any serious kind of problem. Colors are generally solid throughout, black levels look good and most backgrounds maintain a solid feel to them. There is some edge cross coloration going into a few areas but it's very minimal and hardly noticeable unless you're really looking for it. There is a clean feel to it overall and this presentation should please most.
Natural Obsessions 2 does a rather nice cover layout here though it again goes with the overt design for the front cover. The front has a shot of Chisato laying on top of a bed being taken in photograph form where she's completely naked while smaller pictures of her surround the main one. The reverse side cover does the sme thing but with different shots that don't show any nudity. Each has their appeal but I tend to find that some of the more tantalizing and less revealing shots work better. Plus, it's something that doesn't quite scream ""adult!" as quickly as this does depending on how you're purchasing it. The back cover and its reverse side follow the same trend with a number of graphic shots on one side and clean ones on the other. The summary covers the basics and the discs production and technical information is listed in the way they've done it for some time. It's not the best layout (technical grid!) but it does let you know what languages are involved and the best way to list runtimes.
The menu design for this release is decent but it has a much noisier feel to the animation here than in the show itself. Using the design from the cover with the hand holding the photograph, clips from the show play out within it while the background does a slow pan of the interior of one of the rooms. The logo and navigation is fairly standard in layout and there is a bit of instrumental music playing along to it that sets the mood nicely. The animation clips do a decent job of setting the mood as well and avoiding playing anything hardcore which is a plus. The disc correctly read our players' language defaults and played accordingly.
The only extras on the disc are a set of images from the show, plus the bonus video which we've seen elsewhere. This time however it is soft subtitled and looks better.

Natural Obsessions 2, originally titled Natural 2 Duo Chi-sa-to, is a title from Green Bunny that I don't think many expected to see make its way over here. With Green Bunny having gone out of business there hasn't been much said about whether titles from them are even available for licensing anymore so it's been quiet on that front. A sequel to Natural which was released in the US by Central Park Media as Teacher's Pet, it doesn't seem to have any direct relation to it beyond the title.
The series focuses around two twin sisters named Chisato and Ku who lost their parents at a young age. They were taken in by an older man with a grandson named Shoma. Being several years older than the girls, he took on a big brother feel easily for them. With his rather mild style and loving attitude they all became close in a familial sense. The girls always wanted to do things for him and there was a sense of love between them. One event that happened during the girls younger years however ended up causing him to lose his ability to play the violin to the level he had. This has weighed heavily on Chisato's mind for all these years and even after they had left the household.
Both sisters have no re-entered Shoma's life and they're intent on making it all up to him, from his kindness to the loss that he suffered. Shoma's still the same kind of guy he was in that he's easy going and friendly but he also can't deny the attraction to these young women. Chisato is far more intent on pleasuring him and has more of a traditional "devoted Japanese wife" feel to her than Ku but both of them only want to please him. It doesn't take long before things shift to a romantic interest, plus a little jealousy here and there, and Shoma finds that something he's wanted has almost always been right under his nose.
With this being a Green Bunny show, the quality of the character designs is solid and the animation in general has a very polished feel to it that at times has it looking much better than some popular mainstream series. The shows soft look is something of a plus for me since I'm still gunshy after the number of overly bright and clean adult series from several years ago. The look also works well for the show since it's essentially a domestic drama with some enjoyable sex brought into the mix. The two main women are definitely attractive and Shoma himself isn't a twit or anything bad to look at. In a lot of ways this is similar to the slice of life shows that are popular but aren't a staple in Adult Source Media's catalog. This is definitely something I want to see more of from them though.
On the downside, their translations still need a good bit of work. There's always this element across pretty much all of the adult distributors that the translations don't need to be quite as solid as the mainstream ones but I've never liked that. Here, there is an obvious problem in that the translator seems to have believed that Shoma's name is actually "Nisama." They also take other relationship words, such as aniki, and change them to Nisama. It's rather disconcerting at times and reminded me more of the "olden days" when honorifics and words like this were either ignored or proper names were used instead. It also sounds really weird when listening to the English language adaptation.
Natural Obsession 2 is a very enjoyable title that hits up the domestic slice of life adult material very well. The characters are very attractive without being too much, the animation is generally solid and the transfer, while not 100%, is pleasing on the eyes. Green Bunny has long been one of my favorite producers of adult anime and their closing down has been a big loss in my view. Being able to plunder their catalog even a little bit more by bringing out this title is a great thing. Natural Obsessions 2 isn't quite a huge change of pace for Adult Source Media but it's a welcome diversion from some of their more hardcore fetish releases. This is a title that's very easy to recommend to newcomers, casual purveyors of adult material and couples.
