The Review!
New Cutey Honey is a continuation of the original 70's TV series. This disc contains the last four of eight episodes. This part of the series was also done about a year after the last four. The last three are pretty much are only filler episodes, and the series is never completed. Though ADV has announced that a new TV series is currently in production in Japan. Maybe it will continue from where this disc leaves off.

AUDIO:
I usually watch this disc in English, since I'm fond of the dub and its actors. Though, I have listened to both tracks. Both English and Japanese tracks sound great. The sound is very solid, and dialogue is very clear. I found no distortion in neither language. I am somewhat satisfied with the audio.

VIDEO:
Since these four episodes were done a year later from the last four the picture is more nicer. I found no artifacting, no bleeding, or rainbows. Very clear and crisp. A well-done transfer in my opinion.

PACKAGING:
The packaging is very cool in my opinion. The front of the cover is identical to the second English dubbed volume. A nice picture of Honey transforming into her Warrior form. The spine features Honey in her biker form. The back has four screen captures, along with a brief summary of the show. The back also lists the features included on the disc, except the Recording Session was not listed. The insert features a picture of Cutey Honey from the cover of the fourth English dubbed volume, along with some screen captures in the background. The back lists the chapter stops for the episodes. I noticed ADV had made a mistake, listing four chapter stops for each episode when they actually have five.

MENUS:
These menus are great. The main menu is very cool. It uses the same picture of Honey from the cover, with four running clips, casting in blue, playing in the background (one for each of the four episodes), with the ending theme, "Circle Game" (though this ending theme is not used in these four episodes), playing. The sub-menus are basically static screens featuring Honey in different forms and poses, they all play music as well.

EXTRAS:
The extras on this disc are the same extras found at the end of the New Cutey Honey videos. These are great extras. First up, we have an interview with three of the main voice actresses from the Japanese version. The voice actresses for Honey, Chokkei, and Natsuko answer questions from fans, and we get to know them well. There is even a name-a-villain game at the end, really cool. The second extra is a live concert by the "Honeys". These girls are very good singers, and they sing the opening theme song, followed by a song I found quite entertaining. I was jealous how they were giving out New Cutey Honey videos and (what appear to be) trading cards or posters. From here, I began guessing that these features were probably also on the original Japanese Laserdiscs. We also get a cool Recording Session. We get to see the Japanese voice actress for Honey preform the theme song at a recording studio, kind of like a music video since there are scenes from the series. And at last, we have the original Japanese trailer, plus a few of the ADV trailers. No credit-less opening or ending here (And I just loved the second ending used for these last four episodes...). One of the ADV trailers is MOST of a credit-less opening, but some (adult) scenes were changed to series clips. I do remember from an ADV VHS (Devil Hunter Yohko - dubbed) there was a trailer for New Cutey Honey Volume 3, which is not included here, and it was a complete credit-less version of the opening... Other than that, these were great extras.

CONTENT:
Dolmeck has been defeated, Panther Zora has been resurrected, and now all the criminals in Cosplay City are trying to become the new "top-dog". But, the lovely warrior, Cutey Honey is still here to save the day!

(SPOILER WARNING)

In episode 5, a mad bomber threatens to blow up the entire city. As Honey finds the bomber, Chokkei informs her that Danbei has found the bomb. Two girls over hear their conversation and run away. A woman dressed as a man pretends to be part of the "special bomb team" and steals the bomb, after a car chase, the gang of four girls have Chokkei as a hostage. Later, the leader of the group ends up being possessed by Panther Zora and attacks Honey. Honey soon finds out that Panther Zora has returned.

In episode 6, a woman changes the city back into a dark place. With battling dummies, samurai warriors, and lady ninjas, Honey and the gang along with their new friend, Natsuko, find themselves in big trouble. The woman, Yasha, ends up being possessed by Panther Zora as well. She wants revenge because the old amusment park, Samurai Park, was shut down and the dummies (and machines) were lonely. Honey ends up feeling sad for Yasha, since she was so lonely.

In episode 7, a woman by the name of Scorpion starts her own group of thug hunters, not to protect the city, but to find enjoyment by killing them! After Chokkei's mother, Daiko, is taken by the thug hunters, Honey and the gang decide to find her. Chokkei, Akakabu, and Danbei go in as prisoners, and after going through an "exposing" cavity search, Natsuko is also taken in (and later seems to be forced to be one of Scorpion's servants). Honey disguises herself as a male escapee and is purposely captured. She finds herself in a room with another prisoner, Akira (the DEVILMAN Akira), who refused to join Scorpion. Before she could be abused by a whip (and nearly having her body exposed) she transforms, beats up the men, and frees Akira. After nearly being defeated by one of Scorpion's best fighters, Daiko interferes the battle between her husband and "Monster". But, before she could get hurt, Honey arrived as a Masked Wrestler. After defeating Monster she challenges Scorpion. Scorpion decides to fight, and after Panther Zora takes possession of her, she becomes an actual scorpion and attacks Honey. After finding out that Scorpion's bones could not be broken in anyway, Akira reveals that the place is going to blow up. Before a ton of explosives exploded, Akira saves Honey from the damage caused later.

In episode 8, a woman obsessed with gold steals a professor's machine, the Instant Space Removal Machine (or "ISRM" - "ISRUM"), so she can instantly teleport into bank safes and steal all the gold. After Danbei reconizes the man yelling about how his machine was stolen by the gold-thief, they went to the jail to talk. Professor Kabuto was the man who did Danbei's cyborg operation. Kabuto tells them that the "foxy lady", later known as Gold Digger, has stolen his teleportation device and is using it to rob banks. After finding Peeping Spider, Honey and the gang look for Gold Digger (Spider's cybornetic eye can detect the machine's "turbalance"). After one attempt, Honey diguses herself as a golden statue which lures Gold Digger in their trap. Chokkei grabs the machine away from Gold Digger and Honey tries her best not to let her go. Panther Zora possesses Gold Digger and transforms her into a monster. After a battle, with the help of Peeping Spider, Gold Digger is defeated.

Though these are filler episodes, they are very fun to watch! So if you already have the first disc, you should get this one as well!
