Clear, with little in the way of artifacts. I didn't notice any aliacing. Some shimering was evident in pans, but otherwise, a very clear, solid
The japanese track was clear. The english track had some slight hissing, but nothing distracting, like, say, the Sailor Moon discs from Pioneer.
A motion menu appears when you first load it. Selections are clear.
A real waste, here. A second or so of a promo for a convention, and then
CPM's promo for the film. The character sheets were basic, nothing more.
Ok. Despite all my less then enthuisatic response above, I do like this film. It concerns the reergance of a world called the Netherworld, wich once waged war with the spirit world and lost. They were sealed for a long time, and now have come back for revenge, and to find a new place for thier world. Enter our heros. After finding Boten falling from the roof of the school, Yusuke, along with Kawabara (Called Kawahara here, probly for dubbing reasons) goes to a shrine, and encounter a young girl, Hinigeshi, who, like Boten, is a guide to the spririt world. After they recieve a report from Kurama about the state of the Spririt World, they, along with the diminutive Hiei, goes out to put a stop to this. Only, the netherworld is two steps ahead of them.
This is an exciting movie, full of action packed scenes, little humur, and vivid characters. The final battle piles on the climaxes like a dozen bad slasher films, upping the stakes each time. The english dubbing suits the characters, and seems somewhat, to have inspired Funi with thier dubbing of the tv series. Not a movie for new viewers, like I was, but intresting enough anyway.
