Beware of what you wish for, you just might get it.
For my viewing of Inmu, I used the Japanese language track. Sound is clear without any distortions, and the audio track makes good use of the built-in TV speakers.
I saw no video problems on either disk. Colors were full and did not cross-color or shimmer at any time. Even during scenes with a lot of movement or motion, I saw no artificing, blocking, or distortions.
The packaging is okay. Being that the show is more about "dangerous desires", I think they should have emphasized that more, instead of the half-naked women in various poses. Don't get me wrong, the art that was used is very detailed and good... I just don't think it helps to show what the OVA is about. On the back of the slip-box, and on the DVD cases are brief descriptions of the episodes, as well as DVD features. There is no insert.
After a brief, animated intro, the menus display. Menus are easy to navigate, and load quickly.
Are art galleries of the adult VAs, as well as an art gallery from the OVA itself. There is also a link to the NuTech website. On the reverse of the DVD are trailers for other NuTech DVDs.

If you want a horror bishoujo (cute girl) anime, then this fits the bill very well. Inmu is a 4 short-episode OVA, on 2 DVDs that warns you about asking for something. The old adage, "beware of what you wish you, because you just might get it." The four episodes revolve around various different girls and women, and their dangerous infatuation with things. So dangerous, in fact, that a Lady Succubus comes to visit them, and grant them their desire.
In episode 1, you follow Yumi around on a normal day of hers. Except, she's constantly afraid that someone is watching her or about to molest her. The episode starts off a bit confusing, as it does show her getting groped on the subway, but then all of the sudden, the scene resets and people are just standing around reading the paper, or waiting for their stop. Then the rest of her day is filled with her being afraid that someone is watching her. After meeting with the Lady Succubus, you find out that the person watching Yumi... is herself.
Episode 2 deals with a haughty, imperious, fashion designer. She's constantly humiliating one of her assistants, and you quickly find out that this is the norm for her. Well... her assistant gets fired, and decides he has had enough. So, he sets about plans to publicly humiliating her. She's warned by the Lady Succubus (because the Succubus says that "what you desire most, you can't see"... the whole idea that she humiliates her assistant, because she wants to be humiliated.) She disregards the warning, and then proceeds to be humiliated both in her private life, and at work... and the episode ends with her being enraptured with her disgrace.
Episode 3 is about Izumi, a swim coach who has a strong desire for her teammate Aki. Aki idolizes Izumi, and says that she would love to spend forever with her. But, it's a teenage sort of "forever"... something that Izumi does not understand. Anyway, you find out that Izumi has been stealing Aki's underwear, in an effort to fantasize about her. You also find out that Aki is about to actually have sex for the first time with her boyfriend. An event that Izumi is repulsed by. So... so strong are Izumi's feelings for Aki, that she tricks Aki to come to a late-night, "special lesson". During this lesson, Izumi starts to make love to Aki, and then once Aki finds out what's going on... Izumi drowns Aki and herself to keep Aki "pure", and so that she can fulfill Aki's wish of always being with Izumi. I really liked how this one ended. It was a very stylized way of showing the drowning.
Episode 4 is about Aoi, a girl who's trapped in a small, cement room. A group of men come into the room, and force themselves on her. After they leave, she starts to wonder how long she's been in this room, and what lead up to her being in the room. Flashback to Aoi and her classmates. You find out that Aoi is a reclusive, quiet girl, who has a morbid obsession with this porcelain doll she sees in a shop. Such an obsession that Aoi physically starts to make love with the doll, and starts to transform her room into a mockery of the dolls box. As an aside, the doll is very lolicon as well... which makes this aspect of the episode even more macabe to me. Anyway, as dangerous desires would have it, the doll comes alive, and gives Aoi exactly what she wishes for.
In conclusion, Inmu is dark, gothic, horror bishoujo. The choreography is very well done, and the character designs are all hauntingly beautiful. The music also adds to the macabre nature of the show. A lot of these episodes reminded me of old "Twilight Zone" or "Tales From the Crypt" episodes in their plot twists and turns. I felt that the 2nd set of episodes (3 and 4) were better stories than the first two; hence why the content grade was only a moderate B. So, if you like a more gothic horror sort of show, then Inmu fits this bill very well. As it's not your typical bishoujo OVA, I'd have to say rent it first to see if you like it. Overall though, I recommend it.
