What They Say
The demonic angel created by Hild and sanctified by Belldandy found a temporary host in Keiichi, but how long can his mortal form bear the burden? Keiichi has a notion of how to shift its presence to a more suitable host body, but Velsper may not like the transfer. Come to think of it, neither may Keiichi!
Also includes nine "Adventures of the Mini-Goddesses" strips and an exclusive preview of the upcoming Oh My Goddess!: First End novel.
A talking cat demon, rubber band wars (goddess style), and visitors from another world. These just a few things making this volume a very entertaining read. Despite his attempts, Keiichi still hasn't figured out how to control the demonic familiar he's taken into his body to protect Belldandy. However, it was still a nice try considering he's neither an angel or demon and couldn't possibly hope to coexist with it. The only solution the goddesses can think of is to find a demon to accept the familiar so Keiichi's life can return to normal. But where are they going to find a 'friendly' demon?
Then the girls remember a nearby demon that will be perfect for this situation. Velsper (cat-shaped demon) has been in suspended animation and tucked away in a closet for who knows how long. The trick will be thawing him out. All I can say is that Fujishima is a twisted author. If you don't believe me, just read chapter 171 to see how Skuld defrosts Velsper. All that aside, Velsper only agrees to Keiichi's request to accept the familiar IF both Keiichi and Urd bow down and ask nicely. Fat chance, Urd bows to no one. The rest of this story is nothing short of hilarious.
There is nothing worse than bored beings with super powers. Add sibling rivalry to the mix and watch out. It starts out as a small argument and a rubber band gun reminiscent of my childhood, but when Skuld is involved, things usually escalate quickly. One of those escalations is a rubber band minigun, which is cool, but a tank with a rubber band canon is even cooler. How can Urd and Peorth possibly contend with that? I'm sure they'll come up with something, but Keiichi and his homemade chopstick rubber band gun better sit this one out.
The rest of this volume wraps up with a cute story showing how Keiichi's love for machines can translate into good human and alien relations. One day a small living robot from another world arrives at Keiichi's shop looking for Belldandy. The little guy needs some repairs and agrees to let Keiichi work on him with Belldandy's reassurances. Keiichi can't believe how beautiful the alien's parts are and how well they work together. In no time, he has everything fixed and sends the alien on his way. Word of Keiichi's skill travels fast and the next day finds three more aliens at Keiichi's door. Will he be able to fix all of them? Will their numbers increase exponentially? Are they ever going to pay him for his time?
