What They Say
Sayuri is a hard-working OL, the unsung heroine of Japan's modern economy. With the help of her horny colleague Keiko and eager understudy Mayu-tan, the girls will lower office stress by teasing cocks erect, keep spirits high by pulling their butt cheeks wide, and suck their way to another year of record profitability for the company!

The Review
All other Icarus titles fall short compared to the wonderful raunchy art that is The Spirit of Captialism. Company presidents beware of the corporate raiders!
(Contains nudity)

Packaging:
This books front cover is more graphic than most of Icarus' previous titles, as the cover girl, Sayuri, is actually in the act of fellatio and wearing nothing but a metal choker attached to a chain. The back cover depicts Sayuri wearing see-through underwear and trying to answer a phone while a bunch of men are feeling her up. The thicker paper of Icarus' new printer lends itself to a wonderful reproduction with solid tone quality throughout the entire book. Extras include a comic omake from the author, a congrats drawing from another author, translation notes and a glossary of terms explaining honorifics.

Artwork:
Freaking awesome character design and realistic art. Easily the highest Art grade I've given an ero-manga title. Unlike many titles of this genre, in The Spirit of Capitalism there is no mistaking one female character for another and their eye's have plenty of detail. No single body with interchangeable head syndrome here. They all have different looking faces and their bodies are completely different from each other in every thing from breast size to nipple shape to pubic region and everything in between. Along those lines, Tuna Empire covers just about every guy's taste/preference in women. From humongous breasts to little, voluptuous women to skinny girls, short hair/long hair, straight and curly, don't worry you'll find your type.

The panel layout changes from cinematic rectangles to varying sized and shaped panels during sex scenes. Shading received a lot of detail in both the form of tone work and cross-hatching, and speed lines lend a sense of dynamic movement during sex scenes. In addition to some two-page panels, each chapter starts with a great full-page picture. My only complaint would be with the blank-faced male characters, but I know some guys prefer the blank-man especially to the grotesque gorilla-man characters.

Text/SFX:
The translation reads better than the earliest books from Icarus, but not as good as some of their most recent titles. I found a number of places missing a word or the tense was incorrect, otherwise I have to say my attention certainly wasn't focused on this aspect if you know what I mean. Honorifics remain in translation along with the Japanese SFX, which sadly lacks an English translation that could add to the story.

Contents: (Oh yes, there may be spoilers)
The Spirit of Capitalism follows the Office Ladies (OL's) of the Japanese corporate world through their trials and tribulations of everyday office life. However, this is an ero-manga, so of course there is a twist to this story. These OL's are the sexual servants of the average salary-man. The OL's daily office attire consists of a chest-less long-sleeved shirt and a vest that keeps their breasts exposed. They also wear high-heeled shoes with their thigh-highs and exposed underwear and a nametag safety-pinned through their left nipple. Walking into the lobby of this building would cause most otaku to nosebleed themselves to death before they could even make it to the elevator.

This story follows the travails of Sayuri, a lower level OL trying to decide if she really belongs in a company such as this. Questions like 'Do I really do a good job?' and 'Do I really like anal?' occupies a lot of her down time. Only time will tell how she feels. What I can say is that the other OL's genuinely appear to enjoy their work and are quite capable employees as they easily accommodate one, two, three, and sometimes even four co-workers at a time. However, sometimes the women are so hot they can't help but taste each other's delights when things get slow.

Eventually Sayuri receives compliments on her skills, which really makes her day. But it isn't until corporate raiders in the form of a British woman and her Indian right hand lady appear to confront Sayuri's company president that things get really interesting. Will Sayuri's company fall to the 'Western Devils'? What do the corporate raiders find so interesting about Sayuri and what do they have in mind? Believe me when I say you really need to find out for yourself.

Comments
The Spirit of Capitalism is just plain awesome and it has easily taken first place as my favorite Icarus title to date. The art is realistic and powerful with great character design. The story, while not believable, is certainly smokin' hot and I'm super enviable of that companies employees. And while yes, it seems very chauvinistic, that idea is kind of knocked down a little when it turns out the company president is a super boobilicious woman who enjoys the talents of both her male and female employees. In addition to everything from great story and art, the sex is nothing short of highly varied (even some strap-on/futanari and whale spouting action) and completely hot. I wish I could give it a higher rating than the highest 5 ranking.

Regardless, I've already read this book twice. If you've been thinking about ordering an Icarus title but just haven't gotten around to it, go online and order this title now! You won't be disappointed. Highly Recommended!

Overall Hotness (1 to 5): 5++++++:G-spot Rocker!!
