What They Say
The adventures of Haruhiko, Yuka and Eukanaria continue. Will the truth behind Yuka and Fulcanelli's relationship finally be revealed? Will Haruhiko finally give up the fight and give his body over to Fulcanelli's soul? Well, one thing's for sure: Eukanaria has a new suitor. But whether he's after Eukanaria's body or the rest of Fulcanelli's soul is another question.
The sexy girl train just keeps on rolling. Sultry demon Lavoix is fed up with the human world and her inability to return to the demon realm. She thought her pact with enchanter Adolph would make her stronger, but it appears he’s only good in the sack. Because Adolph loves Lavoix, he will do anything to give her what she wants, even if it means giving her up and doing something he doesn’t agree with. Both of these characters play off Eukanaria and Haruhiko quite well, making nice comparisons and slowly helping each character examine their own personal weaknesses.
To prove his loyalty, Adolph quietly goes along with Lavoix’s plan to rob Haruhiko of his enchanter powers. This should give her more than enough strength to do whatever she wants, mainly leaving Earth. After unsuccessfully trying to seduce Haruhiko out of his powers, Lavoix decides to kidnap Eukanaria and use her as a bargaining tool. Meanwhile, Haruhiko is visiting the enchanter realm where he’s learning how to fight under the tutelage of Mr. Yamato. Between sparing matches, Haruhiko meets another sexy gem of a girl, Mercurio. She is actually an enchanter herself, but she obviously takes her wardrobe tips from other demon girls like Eukanaria. Mercurio is an engraver, but what that means isn’t explored in this volume. She is also incredibly nice, and clumsy. In a single chapter, she manages to double the panty shots of the whole book. But what about poor Eukanaria? Will Haruhiko find her in time? Will he give up his powers (ones he never wanted) to save Eukanaria? Or will he use his new fighting skills to kick Adolph into the demon realm?
With this latest volume of Enchanter I’m really beginning to wonder if Kawachi is a fan of Yumisuke Kotoyoshi’s ero-manga art? Then again, when checking the publication dates of certain books, I have to wonder if Kotoyoshi is a fan of Enchanter? Exhibit A; the cover of Enchanter volume 6 (originally published 2004) has an extremely sexy Eukanaria and Lavoix playing the school ground favorite thumb-war, only with their nipples. Now make your way to the Icarus Publishing website to look at the cover of Kotoyoshi’s Juicy Fruits (originally published 2005). On both covers, the girl’s on the reader’s right both appear to be winning their nipple-war. Now for Exibit B; The first page of Enchanter volume 5 (originally published 2005) has Eukanaria sitting with her legs pulled up and a straw in her mouth. The second page of Juicy Fruits shows a female character in the same pose, only naked and sucking on a banana. It appears both Kotoyoshi, and myself, enjoy Enchanter. The prosecution rests.
