It's the week ofComic-ConInternational in San Diego continues and Comics2Film is here withanother tip for producers who will be heading down to the show lookingfor the next coolness.
Today Aaron Sowd blows thelid off of "Undercover Fish".
Q: Describe "Undercover Fish"in two sentences or less.
When bumbling super-spy Hugo Bonito was turned into a fish by his archenemyMako, it wasn't the end of his fight against crime -- it was a whole newbeginning. Now, as the only finned fed, Undercover Fish goes to places otheragents can't and to depths they won't, to catch crooks and balance thescales of justice.
Q: If you were to compare"Undercover Fish" to a movie or TV show what would it be?
"Undercover Fish" is a mix ofaction, spy satire and comedy, along the lines of "Austin Powers", "Finding Nemo" and "The Incredible Mr. Limpet." Don Knotts is our hero! We love the idea of this super spy still trying to lead this swank, world-saving lifestyle even though he's a fish. We may even work a romance into it, if we don't get calls from the PETA people.
Q: Why do you think"Undercover Fish" would translate to film/TV/animation?
"Undercover Fish"is a lot more fun than most of the spy shows out there. Who else infiltrates asushi bar as lunch? Beyond the action and slapstick of a fish spy, and thefish-world / real-world parallels we can satire, "Undercover Fish" alsofunctions as a work comedy, based on the relationships between Bonito, his partner, Agent Moray and The Chief, their boss at theFederal Investigation Network (F.I.N.).
