It's the week ofComic-ConInternational in San Diego continues and Comics2Film is here withanother tip for producers who will be heading down to the show lookingfor the next coolness.
Today Aaron Sowd paints agrim canvas for "Dark Art".
Q: Describe "Dark Art"in two sentences or less.
"Dark Art" explores the question "where do artists get their ideas from?" andtakes it one step futher by asking "and what if those ideas want something inreturn?" An ambitious young artist , Julia Rekman, receives a painting as agift, not knowing it's haunted by an evil spirit and is drawn into a horrificworld where flesh and blood are a canvas for murder.
Q: If you were to compare"Dark Art" to a movie or TV show what would it be?
"Dark Art" combines theglamour of the New York art scene with blood-drenched horror and an atmosphereof dread. You don't want to know what's around the corner, but you have tolook. Fans of horror classics like "The Ring", "The Exorcist" and "Angel Heart" should love it.
Q: Why do you think"Dark Art" would translate to film/TV/animation?
It was originally conceivedas a film and we've laid out the origins of the painting in "Komikwerks Vol.5: Thrills and Chills." That backstory brings us up to present day andintroduces our heroine, Julia Rekman. It also plays with a dangerous question:"if the success you always wanted got people killed, how long would it takeyou stop?"

Because "Dark Art" willbe debuting in "Komikwerks Vol. 5: Thrills and Chills" which comes out the dayof the con!
