It's the week of Comic-Con! Here's the latest installment of COMIC-CON PITCH 2006, in which Comics2Film endeavors to connect indie comics creators with Hollywood producers.
Today we've got Shannon Eric Denton talking about his book 'Grunts'!
Q: Describe GRUNTS in two sentences or less.
Shannon Denton (SD): GRUNTS debuts this month from Arcana Press. Created by Eisner Winner KeithGiffen and critically acclaimed writer Shannon Eric Denton.THE PITCH: During World War Two this unimpressive American squad took downan elite unit of German super-soldiers but in doing so started a EugenicsRace that carries into present day and today they are the only hope againstone mans Ultimate Solution.
Q: If you were to compare GRUNTS to a movie or TV show what would it be?
SD: 24 meets the X-Men. We've got over the top heroics and "Tom Clancy on speed" military style action.
Q: Why do you think GRUNTS would translate to film/TV/animation?
SD: It's got all the action a guy could want set in the world we live in.
Q: Why should movie folks seek you out at Comic-Con?
SD: Keith Giffen and I have a pretty good track record of creating propertiesthat Hollywood likes. Talk to Circle of Confusion. We get things going.
