Although Bloody-Disgusting.com broke this news over a month ago, Variety now confirms that 'Battlestar Galactica' helmer Michael Rymer is set to direct and co-produce the 'Witchblade' movie.
'Witchblade' is, of course, based on Top Cow's flagship comic. This is the latest foray for the character, which has previously been adapted as a live-action TV series and an anime series.
Rymer directed 20 episodes of 'Galactica' and recently wrapped production of a two-hour pilot for SCI FI Channel called 'Revolution'.
Other producers on the film include Gary Hamilton and Nigel Odell or Arclight Films, Scott Mitchell Rosenberg of Platinum Studios and Steve Squillante of Havenwood Media. Top Cow's Marc Silvestri and Matt Hawkins will be executive producers along with Platinum Studios' Rich Marincic and Greenberg Group's Randy Greenberg.
