CONTRA back in action on DS

Earlier today, Konami announced they will be releasing a sequel to 92's Contra III: The Alien Wars. The next title game for the long time development company will be known as "Contra 4" (For now...) and it will be an exclusive title for the massively popular Nintendo DS.

Plotline for Contra 4?

Contra 4 finds Bill Rizer and Lance Bean facing the Black Viper alien force two years after The Alien Wars end. Characters Scorpion and Mad Dog also return for the fight and the use of both screens will allow massive boss battles to be fought above the ground.

Two-player cooperative play is also coming to the game.

Contra 4 is expected to hit shelves later this year. Probably a Christmas season release.
