Good.  He was wrong for the role.  I don't think Cooper sucks at all if given the right part.  And, this was the wrong part for the actor.  I was one for him for the part of Hal Jordan.  I can definitely see him in a superhero flick, but just not as the Crow.  Which should be about a young musician.  If they are staying loyal to the source material.  Although, that said, I thought the original held up well and this was a rather unnecessary remake.   And, goth is dead.  It is a joke.  Give him a more Heath Ledger Joker spin.  A much darker version.

I'm with Hanso on this. Tim Riggins is the Crow.

I've said it before, I'll say it again.  What is the appeal of Bradley Cooper in the first place?  Nothing against any acting ability he may have, but physically.  He's got such an odd, weird-nosed face.  I don't think he is as handsome as some people seem to.  But then again I never saw the appeal of Matthew McConaughey either, everytime I see that dude I think, "Eeew, he doesn't use deoderant and he is constantly exercising so he must smell like a jock strap."

But I don't get it for either of them.  Oh, well.  It's all subjective anyway, I guess.

Kill the Crow re-make.  Brandon Lee's Crow is sacred.  He gave his life for the movie.  Sure it was an "accident", unless you believe in the Lee family curse.  But the point remains the same.  Brandon Lee as the Crow forever.  All others suck monkey choad.

I think the casting just went from bad to worse. Tatum and Wahlberg are even worse than Cooper for The Crow. Just cancell the remake.

Sigh...For the four hundredth time.  THE ORIGINAL CROW FILM WAS GREAT FOR WHAT IT WAS, BUT IT WAS NOT, REPEAT, NOT A VERY FAITHFUL ADAPTATION OF THE SOURCE MATERIAL.

Am I the only one that's read the friggin' book?  There's a very good reason this franchise needs to be rebooted: IT HASN'T BEEN DONE PROPERLY YET.  Eric Draven wasn't even a musician in the books, he was a  tradesman.  He and Shelly were killed by the highway by T Bird and company, not in their apartment, the little girl's name was Sherry, she played a VERY minor role, and pretty much everything that happened in the film was out of order or plain made up.  Like I said, great film in it's own right, but it's not the end-all-be-all.  Snyder's Watchmen got ripped a new asshole by half of nerddom for changing one or two things from the book and yet this film always seems to get a free pass on the whole adherance to the source material issue.

This character mattered long before Brandon Lee donned the harlequin paint for the first time, or before he was tragically shot.  This is just an older example of what happened with Heath Ledger and the Dark Knight.  They both played their characters brilliantly, but they didn't invent them, and we aren't beholden to them for all eternity.

Redo this right.  Mark Wahlberg is not even close to being the right guy for the role, and I like the guy's work overall.  This just isn't his picture.  The other chap they mentioned isn't even a blip on my radar, so I don't have enough info to form an opinion.

Seriously Proyas' Crow film is amazing, but it's not even the shadow of what could be possible with the right creative vision.  We need something that's as faithful to the book as Snyder's 300 or Rodriguez's Sin City.  Preferably in Black and White.  80's hairstyle, and with the soundtrack that was playing in James O'Barr's head when he wrote it: The Cure, Joy Divison etc.  The only way to do this right is to go back to the source, and by that I mean the goddamned graphic novel.

And yeah, goth as a social scene is dead, but the imagery is still powerful, and the music as well, (not the sh*t these little emo bastards are listening to  these days), but stuff like KMFDM, Skinny Puppy, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, The Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, etc. is all still awesome. In fact most of them are making better music now than they were twenty years ago.

Ignore the petulant teenagers of today, and find this graphic novel and tell me a straight adaptation wouldn't be friggin' awesome.

Most of the Crow spinoff stuff was pretty forgettable, but there was one of the novels about a schoolteacher who is blown up in a domestic terrorist attack along with her whole class of elementary school students, and arises from the vaporized particles of dust a year later to launch a campaign of vengeance against an entire compound of militant redneck racist jerkasses.  If they aren't going to do the original graphic novel justice, they should go with Clash By Night.

scytheofluna:   I have to disagree...my memory is a bit fuzzy on the specifics, but I truly enjoyed the Crow film more than the graphic novel (I could have sworn he had a guitar in the book, but like I said, that story just didn't stick with me.)  So, no, you were not the only one who read the book (or, subsequent inferior sequels.)  It is just a time when, IMO, the film was superior to the source material.

Funny thing...do you actually know where the word "friggin" dervived from?

"scytheofluna - And yeah, goth as a social scene is dead"

No, it just went back to the underground where it really belongs. Sort like REAL Punk Rock, Goth, and Industrial. Not the popularized mainstream b*llshit Goth, Industrial, and Punk that was foisted upon the people. The real underground scenes that have been around since the 1970's. Goth is not dead. It is undead and will out last the trendy bastards who joined up just because it was "cool" to look Goth. Damn Hot Topic and damn all the dumbass retards who watered down the Goth scene. I am glad they all left. Assh*les.

Oh and FUKK Emo's with a brick too.  Emo is like Goth, but for PUSSIES.  I know you know this is all true.

And yeah, if they made a Crow movie that was 100% faithfull to the graphic novel it would be the awesome.  But that is never going to happen and we all know it.  Why?  Because the original was just too hard core for the fools in Hollywood.  I am amazed that 300 and Sin City got made the way they did.  It must had been a fluke.

"InnerSanctum - Funny thing...do you actually know where the word "friggin" dervived from?"

Yeah, it means to have sex or masturbate.  Basically the F word.
