McKellen and Caviezel Leads AMC's PRISONER - Jul 01, 2008 - 02:03am
I saw the Prisoner on pbs when I was a kid and enjoyed it. Then I saw it again when I was in university and was surprised how good it still is(unlike space:1999). I hope they keep the opening. It set up the show in a few minutes and had a great soundtrack. I also hope that they have more than one "number two". Bring on the Rovers!
Be seeing you.
Striking Gold! Writer/director Guillermo del Toro - Jul 01, 2008 - 01:49am
I was on the fence about HellboyII until I saw the trailer in the theatre. Seeing the Golden Army itself made me take notice. As for the Hobbit, I think he'll respect the material and will do great job. Alot depends on the crew behind him. I have a feeling a number of names from lotr will show up in the credits. Frankenstein; we've had one in the 90's. Didn't care for it so I'm not interested in a new one.
Berg Confirmed for DUNE - Mar 18, 2008 - 12:45am
We don't need this. I liked the first movie. The first mini did the book justice. Another big screen movie will have to either cut alot of material or will have to be 3-4 hours long. And I don't think current movie audiences will go see it if it is that long. Not for Dune anyway.
LOST: The Other Woman - Mar 09, 2008 - 09:22pm
I thought the other that appeared was actually the black smoke. She came and went so quickly. She also looked emotionless like the other black smoke visions.
BONE Comic Picked Up by WB - Mar 09, 2008 - 09:08pm
Smith has been trying to get an animated Bone movie made for the longest time now. A tv series is the best way to do the book justice though.
Winstone Dealing with Vampire Strippers? - Mar 09, 2008 - 09:02pm
I read this during my grade 10 English class. It was personal reading time. I would pass it around after finishing a good part. I'm not sure why they would make a movie from this after all this time.
I think I still have the novel somewhere around here, after 25 years.
DARK OZ Trilogy in the Works - Mar 03, 2008 - 01:56am
I liked this series when it first came out on caliber comics as OZ. It was Bill Bryans covers that got me to look at it. I got the whole series plus specials, but I dropped when it went to Arrow and became Dark Oz. The beginning of the story had a nice dark tone to it. The three main characters are sucked into a book by a magical tornado and then have to face the possessed scarecrow, tinman and lion. The two men first meet the scarecrow who is very menacing. As the series went on, I think it lost its dark fantasy tone for more of an adventure tone.
So I can see this going either the Narnia way or the Pan's Labyrinth way.
JERICHO: Condor - Feb 20, 2008 - 11:33pm
I really enjoyed this episode. It had tension and direction and a great ending. I'm starting to like Stanley and family. They are the average family trying to adjust, which is a nice contrast to Eric and Hawkins. The Last Starfighter was killed. I think this might be the best episode overall.
Snyder's Wrap Blog on WATCHMEN - Feb 20, 2008 - 08:29pm
After 300, I have faith in Snyder. Watchmen is about story, characterization, and visual style and I think Snyder will do it justice. And after seeing the New Frontier animated movie, I know you can take material out of a great comic book and still make a great movie.
Jericho: Reconstruction - Feb 13, 2008 - 11:01pm
When I first watched the season finale, I thought it was the second to last episode. I was really pissed when it turned out to be the last one. This was an event that should have happened mid-season setting up for something bigger.
Now that I have watched this episode, I still want a hint that something major is coming instead of the same old, same old. I want a build up of tension. Everything seems just reactionary. Maybe Jericho is going to be the center of the upcoming war between all the factions?
Also, as a Canadian, I was wondering how Canada and Nato are handling the situation. Has Canada and Mexico closed their borders waiting to see how everthing turns out.
Maybe next episode.
Peter Berg Confirms DUNE Remake - Dec 21, 2007 - 08:18pm
I see a train wreck about to happen. I liked the first Dune because I hadn't read the book yet. Read the book and realized how much was left out and changed. Then I saw the first mini and enjoyed it. I now know this book can't be done properly in 2-3 hours. It will have great style but most fans will feel something is missing(Chronicles of Riddick)
First SPEED RACER Trailer - Dec 07, 2007 - 02:43am
I don't know about this one. I'm not a fan of the cartoon. And it looks too much like spy kids for me.
HEROES: Powerless - Dec 05, 2007 - 02:43am
I keep thinking Maya is still linked to the epidemic in the future. They also haven't tied up the fact that Peter's girlfriend is in the future. This episode just didn't have the impact I was hoping for, although Nathan's death was handled well.
CLOVERFIELD Trailer #2 - Nov 19, 2007 - 10:11pm
Were those two shadows with a girl in the hospital supposed to be two creatures or two people in Has-Mat suits? I think the latter despite the sound effects.
