Lakeshore Entertainment has its cast for Crank 2:High Voltage locked and ready to go, says Variety. Jason Statham returns as Chev Chelios while Amy Smart will reprise her role as his girlfriend. Clifton Collins Jr. will play his mobster nemesis in the sequel. Bai Ling also is joining the cast, along with Dwight Yoakam and Efren Ramirez, who are both returning from the original. Production will begin April 28 in Los Angeles for returning writers and directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor.

Plot Concept:
In "Crank 2," Chelios faces a mobster who has stolen his nearly indestructible heart and replaced it with a battery-powered ticker that requires regular jolts of electricity to keep working.

Wait, didn't Chev jump out of a plane and hit the ground dead? How are they going to explain that one?

i like the guy, but he should carefully read the script before sign all the contract he received.

the last movie he did, In the name of the king from the director you all loved here, was a mess. He desapointed me !

y'know after the first i didn't think they would try a sequel or even think of after the ending, but more erratic and irrational statham....BRING IT ON!!!!!!!

You know I just caught the end of this movie again the other day on tv and I noticed after he bounces off the car and hits the ground, he blinks. Maybe that was a tip off. But even if he has an indestructible heart, does he have unbreakable bones? Cuz that fall would have done some serious internal damage. Oh well. Who says movies have to make sense any more anyways?

I think exfan is right here. Statham seems to be saying yes to anything they throw his way. I love this guy but he should be more discriminating when choosing projects.

I really like Statham, especially in the right role, BUT...

he is making some really bad choices. Or at least signing without some input into the storylines.

Transporter was great, but part 2 just got to out of hand.

Crank was good fun, but should hust be left alone, or maybe a prequel with him flashing back while falling from pt. 1 or something.

I would really liked to have seen Transporter carried on. Somehow I just enjoy the super-smooth not sure if he is a good guy or bad guy type of character, but keep it at least somewhat realistic, action wise.

And this no paragraph stuff is really messing up my dramatic pauses!!

I still don't see how you can have a sequal to a movie where the protaganist jumps out of a helicopter to his death at the end of part 1. Sure i enjoyed the flick, but someone please explain how that works?

The first movie was so absurd and enjoyable that I really don't care how he comes back to life. The guy who made Crank clearly was modeling it after a video game (look at the opening credits). This is just Chev's second life. Think of this as an actual video game, but your watching someone else play. Crank was the first life. Crank 2 is the player's second life and he's moved onto stage 2.

Please bring back paragraph breaks!

It was a wild first movie and I too remember him blinking at the end. Fasten your seatbelt.
