According to Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine, writers and directors of Crank, there will be a sequel to the aforementioned film.

"There will be a sequel to Crank yes. Prepare to Crank again," said Taylor.   "And you know the "is it a sequel or prequel" question... IT'S A SEQUEL. We're not selling out and going prequel. We are picking up where the last movie left off."

There is no word as of yet as to if Jason Statham will be asked to return in some form, or how far along in development the film is.

eh... they could pump someone else with that cocktail stuff and the ride starts all over again. Dude fell for like miles and miles of air... he's DOA.

Maybe it will be Crank 2: Undead. Because that`s the only way they are going to bring Statham back. What`s he going to be a flashback? Flashback of what? Him doing Amy Smart in front of bunch of Asian people? The movie was crazy, but god awful. I need a sequel to this like I need a third thumb. They should do it to a chick this time!

I like Jason Statham and will watch any movie he's in at least once, but Crank really sucked! It was a really good premise, but I think it could have been way better than it was. And how the hell will it pick up right where the the first one left off? Did he transfer that cocktail stuff over to Amy Smart's character when he did her (trying to be clean) in front of the entire Asian community? If that's the case, so in Crank 2 we'll see Amy Smart running around town loading up on energy drinks and adrenaline shots? Ha, I bet 'ol Jason pulls a parachute out of his butt, then when he hits the ground, he robs another liquor store of there red bulls and monters and scrambles to search for a cure. Yeah, real excited about this sequel! *yawn*

As much as I like Statham, I thought Crank was a little below average at best. I liked the premise, but the movie just didn't do anything for me. I can't imagine seeing a second part on the big screen. I'll wait for this one to show up on HBO or Starz.

Looks like I am standing alone when I say that I rather liked Crank. Watching that movie was like a shot of adrenaline. I was jolted just about the whole time. Was it realistic? No. But it was a lot of fun. Given the whacked nature of the movie and what we were expected to believe, I didn't actually think he died in the end. Wasn't there a close-up shot of his eye pulsing or dilating after the fall? Besides... that car totally broke his fall. Come on!

I liked CRANK for what it was. You just kinda have to turn off your brain to watch it and just enjoy it. Okay, the story is about how a guy has to keep his adrenaline up to survive or die, it's not that much of a stretch to make up some other random way for him to have survived the fall.

Isn't making a sequel to a piece of shit pretty much selling out?
