 Axia77 I think that's were DC's going with Lex

"Son, stocks may rise and fall, utilities and transportation systems may collapse. People are no damn good, but they will always need land and they'll pay through the nose to get it! Remember," my father"

- Lex Luthor

I think Luthor needs to be in this film because the majority of the general public only know the Hackman version. To them he is the stereotype comic book evil genius and not the serious, powerful and unscrupulous corporate villain we all know and love. In this movie it will be like the difference between Nicholson Joker and Ledger Joker. Both versions are good but the later is scary real evil in the flesh that you never want after you.

"caredskinfan - Luthor again. Haven't we tapped that well dry? Is Hollywood that brain dead that they cannot come up with another villian for supes? Gezzz"

No, see my above post. Every version of Luthor in every Superman movie ever made has been lame to me. They need to do the full on 100% Legion of Doom Luthor. This is the Luthor that becomes the President and takes over the world. He is the genius business man who is on on par with the likes of Bruce Wayne. That would separate the past movies from the new one completely.

@nemesis1_57 - I hope so.

 Would have preffered him as Jim Gordon and Mark Strong as Luthor. But, anyone Who is a fan of Breaking Bad knows Cranston has the acting chops and presence to pull off the role of Luthor.

This guy has come a long way since being the goofy dad in Malcolm in the Middle. Modern Family writers should thank Cranston (and Malcolm writers) because Phil is essentially Malcolm's dad.

I like this casting choice. It shows DC means business. But signing him for 10 movies and Affleck for 13? Seems extreme. Classic example of DC trying to one-up Marvel again like the 6 movie deals signed with Evans. Hemsworth and Ruffalo.

No big deal. Competition is always good and gets creative juices flowing and less lazyness.

So is Miley Cyrus going to play Harley Quinn? :)

Good call! Cranston is a very good, very versatile actor. He will DEFINATELY pull off Lex Luthor.

 I can't wait until Affleck kills the job as Batman/ Bruce Wayne. Most of you guys have your heads up your asses and only want who you think is best to play the role. Learn to be open minded!! Im extremely pumped for this. Cranston will be awesome. He can play all sorts of roles. However I wonder if he'll have hair or if he'll be fully bald and no beard.

The thing about Lex is that he CAN'T be some creepy guy (like the clone from smallville), he also cannot be overtly a villain (well for half a dozen appearances at least) he must earn the public trust and to see him movie from Bill Gate like media magnate to the president will be great fun to see...

They always rush these character arcs, have him pulling the strings, but make him genuinely popular with the masses...

Cranston will play this perfectly, but I was still holding out for Bruce Willis...
