FORGE and VECTOR, the two monthly compilations that reprint CrossGen comic books in a larger and longer format, will cease their publication after their next issue, number 13, to be both released this month.
"The Compendia were successful in reaching new readers," said Chris Oarr, CrossGen's Vice President of Sales, in a release from the company. "However, having been introduced to the entire CrossGen line, these new fans clearly gravitated toward our sequentially released graphic novels and comic books. After a year it was apparent that publishing the Compendia, even at a reduced price, no longer made good business sense."
The two compilations gave comic readers a chance to sample different CrossGen books being published with more story pages and at a lower price point than the individual comics would cost. The company still plans on releasing future graphic novels including their new Traveler line debuting in June. The company is also publishing some of their books on their website located at www.comicsontheweb.com.
