CrossGen Entertainment has lifted the curtain on what will be their next stand-alone comic book series, and for fans of a certain Mister Bond, it's good news. Set in London in the swinging '60s, KISS KISS BANG BANG follows the adventures of three globetrotting MI6 agents and the true identity of the most feared and resourceful secret agent, Sir Charles Basildon. Except that Basildon isn't really real...
Sir Charles Basildon is really just a cover name made by MI6 and passed from one male agent to the next who use the spy's legendary exploits as a means to further their missions. But now that it's the 1960s and the sexual revolution is in full bloom, women are taking their role in mother England's best interests...and that means a female MI6 agent is now the next Basildon-in-training. And to complicate matters further, Stephanie Shelley isn't British, she's an American! Can Stephanie live up to the English expectations of what it takes to be an operative? Can she stomach learning the tricks of the trade from the current Sir Charles, a sexist, chauvinistic, unrepentant super spy? MOONLIGHTING meets THE AVENGERS, anyone?
The first issue of KISS KISS BANG BANG goes on sale January 14 and has just been solicited in the latest issue of PREVIEWS. The series regular team consists of writer Tony Bedard, penciler Mike Perkins, inker Andrew Hennessy and colorist Laura Villari.
