Not Bad! Liked the original costumes better from the first Superman!

Fans can thank Russell Crowe's cravings for a cigarette this week. The actor who's set to play Jor-El, the Kryptonian father of Superman in Man of Steel, stepped out for a smoke this week while in his costume and the folks over at Daily Mail and FlyPictures.com captured some snapshots. Check them out below and chime in with your thoughts on the new costume.
The film will also star Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, Harry Lennix and Laurence Fishburne. Director Zack Snyder is leading at the helm, based on a screenplay by David Goyer and Jonathan Nolan. Batman producer-director Christopher Nolan is executive producing.
Man of Steel flies into theaters June 14, 2013.
Thanks to lusiphur for the submission.

Frankly I'm not feeling this! He looks dirty. With most of the surroundings being that of Crystal, snow, etc, I think white Clothing from the Donner Film does more justice than this. He looks scruffy and more in terms of having just fought in battle rather than being one of Kryptons brilliant scientists. Honestly I didnt know he was cast as the part of Jor-El but now that I see him, I'm not liking it. I think this concept takes a step in the wrong direction. He's more in line with ordering a Pint of Ale rather mixing chemicals or playing with Kryptonian crystals. I hope everything else fares better!
I like the costume! Idon't mind that it looks a bit grotty and different. Ha I love the photo of him having a fag, like jedi4sshield said all he needs is a pint and he's well away! Or should that be up up and away......
This Superman seems like it is going to have a much much darker tone to the film. I am looking forward to this sort of change. Maybe they will actually make Superman a pretty cool bad-a$$. With the boy scout morals intact ofcourse.
I will have to agree with you jedi4sshield. Jor-El looks like he came from Asgard and not Krypton.
Looks awesome! The donner suit for Jor-el was queer in my opinion. Also if you look the undersuit looks alot like the new superman costume which is making it much more alike as far as being kryptonian! Unlike the white "tron" suit in the donner movie, which was way different than blue tights.
@ jedi4sshield: Ah, but you're assuming that the current film will retain the snow and crystal set design of Krypton from the original film. While this may be the most familiar Krypton to many viewers, it isn't the only one, nor the original one. In the comics, Krypton has been depicted much differently, and Zach Snyder and Company may have chosen a set design aesthetic more in line with one of those depictions. Like Darkknight2280, I noticed that the undersuit is very similar to what we've seen of the new Superman suit and I personally appreciate that touch, although I do really hope/wish that too much time isn't spent on re-telling Big Blue's origin ... again.
jedi4sshield, who said they are going to make Krypton out of crystal and snow this go round? There have been many interpretations of Krypton in the comics. Also Superman:TAS had a non-tundra / crystal version of Krypton. I actually hope they do go a different route with Krypton if only to make people understand it doesn't have to be an ice world.
I remember being bored when I was a kid watching the first Superman though it was on vid when I saw it. However, I understand the place Donners movie has in movie history and what it did for comic book movies. The only problem is that Sup never got away from that. Even when Singer made his he had to leg hump Donner all the way through.
Now this movie is finally going to get away from that and I can't be more happy. Looking forward to this and love the outfit.
Ummmm Jor-El with all his wisdom is a smoker!! Who even knew Kryptonians had cigs?
I'll say one thing, they are certainly distancing this film from Donner's.
