The last sentence makes little sense.
"Aronofsky will be directing the production, based on a screenplay he wrote Ari Handel and John Logan. "
Could the missing word be "with"?

Director Darren Aronofsky may have found his Noah. Deadline reports that the director wants Russell Crowe and Liam Neeson to join his fast-tracking reimagining of the biblical tale, with the former star likely in contention for the title role. While no deals have been met at this time, Aronofsky continues to be a hot directing commodity off the commercial and critical success of Black Swan.
With production scheduled to begin sometime this spring, it shouldn't be long before Crowe and Neeson's parts are confirmed. Aronofsky will be directing the production, based on a screenplay he wrote Ari Handel and John Logan.

AH-HA wrrlykam!!
Requiem for a dream, the fountain, the wrestler, black swan............yeah....Aronofsky can do what he wants and I'll watch at least once!
Arronofsky has already adapted his script into a graphic novel that is already available in europe, if you type it into the search engine you can find pages from the book. It looks like a huge fantasy film, although the book sights Noah as a mage and healer, I think religious nuts are going to have a field day. But again you guys should check out the art in the book it is pretty awesome and gives insight into the feel of the film. Definitely not a disney/pixar InnerSanctum.
Aranofky, Crowe, Neeson... nice grouping, I look forward to hearing more
I guess there's no reason for Aronofsky to treat the Hebrew and/or Christian Bible (or the Quran) with respect and accuracy - especially if he believes that the story, itself, originated somewhere else long before the iblical telling (that's right, not all Judeo Christians or religious "nuts," as you call them, are stupid), though I obviously don't know if that's the case of not. Anyhow, the story I'm familiar with is one about a man (and his sons) doing the will of God despite the jeerings of pretty much all of those around him because none believe God's warnings of a massive flood. Allegedly, or at least according to the Christian version, it had never even rained on the Earth before that time. That story would likely resonate with a non-hypocritical Christian of today. However, his depiction as any respected healer, if that's how it's being approached, is NOT the Biblical story of Noah. Of course, it doesn't necessarily NEED to be Biblical, but that's probably going to be the point of connection for most in the "general audience," especially in the U.S., and so if he and/or the studio has the gall to market it as any kind of telling of the BIBLICAL story of Noah, then accuracy is a valid concern - unless, of course, you're only doing it to spite those "religious nuts" that are otherwise most likely to take a pure and compelling interest.
After Evan Almighty no one will go see this. I was watching Requiem For A Dream late last night on IFC, such an good film
Oh and this film probably won't piss off anyone because it doesn't target any denomination or religion.
jorson28, bro you need to switch to decaf. I am a christian, and have been raised as such my whole life. My post was merely to state the obvious, that the way Aronofsky is going with this it sounds like it is deviating from biblical context. But no I'm not one of those "religious nuts" who would get my panties in a wad about something like this (when most do) because it really doesn't effect my belief's about how the film turns out. I visit a lot of christian media websites just to see what there take is on films and I never usually agree with if ever but those said websites combined with what I know from my own experience paint them as "religious nuts". It's not as off base as you would like to think. And who said anything about Judeo-Christians being stupid, you almost give validation to my point man. I'm not putting you in that catagory I'm just saying, visit a blog at christianity today where they have already posted this news story. People are already condemning the film outright.
WTF? Seriously? Two by two? Reimaging? What is there to say? Is it going to due to global warming? CGI animals are a given. This sounds like it should be a Disney/Pixar project.
