Variety reports that a sequel to 'Crows Zero' is in the works.
Heck, we didn't even know they made the first one, but that didn't stop it from making $24 million in Japan last year. The original was directed by the prolific Takashi Miike and stars Shun Oguri. The gang-violence film is based on the best-selling manga by Hiroshi Takahashi.
Miike and Oguri will team yet again with producer Mataichiro Yamamoto on the new movie, which is slated to be released in 2009.
Oguri plays Genji Takaya, the son of a yakuza boss, who enters gang-ridden Suzuran High School to do what Dad couldn't in his day -- unite all the school's gangs under his rule.
