Tom Cruise may be bringing William Forstchen's LOST REGIMENT fantasy book series to the big screen with the help of Paramount Studios.
The first book in the series, RALLY CRY, centers on a Union regiment fighting in the Civil War that gets transported to an alien world which resembles the middle ages.
Cruise and producing partner Paula Wagner are working with Paramount studios to 'fast track' CRY for Cruise.

I've read the books. Best damn sci fi I've read in 30 years. Very very scary! Cruise can do the lead role. Special effects must rival "Avatar" for it to work.
