 Since it's Japanese, I'm assuming Keiji in the book was a teenager.  So why not go with someone younger.  Unless Cruise and his CoS buddies are putting up the money to make it.

Tom Cruise has box office clout which has nothing to do with his CoS ties so putting him in definitely helps to get the picture made. I haven't read the comic but I would probably prefer the character being closer to that though.

So basically it's a f@#ked up version of groundhog day. Bill Murray should have a role as general or something.

But then when a teenage is cast we bitch about how it's always a teenager :( I'm okay going with Cruise. It's an adaptation so I can see changing the character to a grizzled vet or a higher rank than a mere recruit

Hah Violater, I didn't block out Bitch there. That's the official plot concept from the studio. I don't change any plot concepts...Guess they needed to have the word but felt like it wouldn't make it past certain website censor blocks. I'm not sure who would block out though...That's a word that is allowed on just about any primetime network without consquence now...almost like "ass". Maybe it was a terrible word 20 years ago on TV but it's pretty common now.

Sounds interesting, could we have anyone other than Cruise involved please?
