Cruise still interested in playing IRON MAN

Tom Cruise was first mentioned as a possible star for a proposed IRON MAN movie a few years back. Since that time the script has changed writers (and storylines) a couple of times, and it was believed that Cruise had moved on and away from starring in the Marvel Comics property. But that's not so according to what the actor told Empire this month while promoting the UK premiere of THE LAST SAMURAI:

"He's a fascinating character, but we've got to figure out how it's going to work," Cruise told the magazine. "And everyone is doing a Marvel character these days. How do we make that new, create something fresh where it doesn't feel like, 'Oh, here comes another superhero story?'"
