Crunchyroll to Participate in Global Shinkai Day

Acclaimed director's work to be streamed

Hailed as the "Next Miyazaki" by The Japan Times, Crunchyroll and CoMix Wave Films celebrates Global Shinkai Day and will honor the works of director and creator extraordinaire Makoto Shinkai beginning Saturday, March 5, 2010 at 5:00 pm (PST) and ending on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at 5:00 pm (PST). Crunchyroll is honoring the celebrated work of the famed creator and director with 48 hours of Shinkai¹s most celebrated works (5 CENTIMETERS PER SECOND, VOICES OF A DISTANT STAR and A PLACE PROMISED IN OUR EARLY DAYS) to all Crunchyroll members, of selected global territories, for free and at up to 480p.

Shinkai¹s work debuted at many high profile film festivals such as the Ottawa International Animation Festival and has won countless awards such as the animation grand prize at Italy¹s Future Film Fest in 2008 for 5 CENTIMETERS PER SECOND.
