The CW network has given a 13-episode midseason renewal to REAPER.  The show stars Bret Harrison, Tyler Labine, Missy Peregrym and Ray Wise.

The now "cult-fave" comdy-drama centers on a slacker guy who's forced to work for the devil, thanks to a Faustian bargain made years ago by his parents.

The program was created by Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas.  They serve as executive producers along with Mark Gordon, Deborah Spera and Tom Spezialy. Kevin Smith directed the pilot, and is credited as a creative consultant for the series.

REAPER stopped airing new episodes after the tenth episode due to an industry-wide screenwriters strike.

Cool, Man, I love this show. I`m not sure why I like it so much, but it probably has something to do with the Devil. He is such a great character. The writing is really smart too. It has that Buffy the Vampire Slayer characteristic to it, but with more humor.

Great news. This is one of my new favorites. It has gotten so much better since they got away from the "escaped soul of the week" storylines. Now the reaper job has taken a back seat to some really good stories.

And yes, pony. The devil may well be the best character on TV right now. He is written well, and Ray Wise's acting is spot on. I knew the devil would be charming, but c'mon. Even I have a little man-crush on him.

But ... great show. Glad to see it coming back. Just wish it was for a full season.

This is good news. The wife and I love this show. Sock is my boy. I actually like all the characters.

Awesome News!! This really is a great show. All the main characters are super, lover their interaction with each other. Also love how even though it's a comedy every now and then the Devil gets a serious tone and shows why he's the Devil.

I absolutely love, love, love this show, and couldn't be happier that it got renewed! Ray Wise is great as the Devil, and while the writing can be hit-or-miss, the last few episodes were amazing.

Yay! I really like this show ("love" might be a bit too strong - who knows, maybe I'm just afraid of commitment). The absolute best part of it, though, is Ray Wise's devil. The writing and acting for that character is so spot on. And I like how he's kinda lonely. I think he genuinely enjoys Sam's company and thinks of him as a friend. But he won't hesitate to screw Sam the first chance he gets. He is the devil, after all. Then again, because I think he considers Sam his friend, he's pretty straight with Sam. He doesn't hide for a moment that he's an evil, selfish bastard who likes tricking people and taking their souls. He just doesn't think that it's all that bad a thing to trick people and take their souls. It's just what he does.

Awesome news indeed. This show has continued to get better imo. The actor they have playing the devil is just perfect for the role also, that smile really creeps me out.

I just hope it continues to get better. Post writers strike it took a huge step up in quality, pre-strike not so good

I'm pleased to hear that. The show did well with the last few episodes. If they continue like this, they have earned a second season.
Too bad Moonlight didn't make it!
