I didn't expect that. I thought smallville had run its course. I stopped watching it two years ago. Is it still good?

I'm still enjoying the show, especially as they continue to offer their own take on various DC characters. This season alone we've had Supergirl, Black Canary, Bizarro, and Brainiac, not to mention appearances by Clark's Kryptonian mother.

In other words: "NO."

Someone at the CW has decided that "an interpretation of the early years of Superman growing up in Smallville" translates in Hollywood-ese to "a complete and utter re-write of the origins of many of DC Comics' most beloved characters to the point that many are barely tolerable, and a wussification of the Man of Steel, reducing him to an invulnerable mass of spineless, whining, overly-emotional Jell-O."

Sorry.

maybe he'll finally learn to fly next season

I still enjoy the show as well. Though it's not quite as good as it was, it has some standout moments here and there.

I think the 8th season was pretty much a given as it's remains one of the top shows on the network and this will give the producers a full season to wrap the series right.

It would be great if CW were to use this 8th season as a launching pad for a new series featuring Green Arrow and possibly his proto-JLA team. They could air Smallville and the spin-off back to back on Thursday nights and have Supernatural paired with Reaper on Friday nights.

Great news that Supernatural is returning! One of the most entertaining shows on TV.

Redhairs, I'm not sure why you would want to bury those shows on Friday nights, typically a graveyard for shows.

more supernatural, sweeeeeet. i still watch smallville when i remember to but i wouldn't say i enjoy it, celt6 sums up clark perfectly. frostyoda13 brings up the flying, which makes me have to say what the fuck is wrong with clark he had his cousin who can fly staying with him on the farm and he never asked her how to fly, what the fuck! oh well at least supernatural doesn't let me down.

why did they renew smallville!!! just let him fly off already with the red cape flapping in the wind. I stopped watching it years ago, but sometimes I'll catch it if a good dc character shows up.

I am still enjoying Smallville quite a bit. Of course I am not a Superman fan so that likely helps. I know the major players in the DC universe and a general idea of what they do and such. About the only DC comics I ever really got into was Green Arrow and Batman. I like Ollie in Smallville, would love to see a spinoff for the character. I think Smallville has some goods years left in it. I am sure there are some other things from the comic series they can do 'Their Way' in the series.

Supernatural. That makes me very happy. Ever since seeing the first episode online for free a few weeks before it aired I have been hooked. I love what they have done this season and I can't wait to see how it plays out into the next.
