Warner Bros. Pictures has signed Matt Damon to star in Hereafter, the upcoming supernatural thriller for director Clint Eastwood. Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon) wrote the script. Damon is already in another Eastwood production, co-starring alongside Morgan Freeman, in Clint's upcoming Nelson Mandela biopic, Invictus.

"Hereafter" will be produced by Clint, Kathleen Kennedy and Robert Lorenz while Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, Morgan and Tim Moore are executive producing. The project is set to begin lensing later this fall.

Plot Concept: While the plot concept is being kept under wraps for now, the studio is describing the supernatural feature as a thriller in the vein of The Sixth Sense.

Thanks to Matador for the submission.

Huh...a Clint Eastwood supernatural movie...I'm down...I love Clint Eastwood as a director.

At the end of the movie we're going to find out that Clint's been dead for years.

For a guy who is like 79 years old it's pretty amazing that he never seems to slow down. I'm sure this will be pretty good, I just wonder how long Clint can keep going?

Sounds interesting. Clint Eastwood's movies, all of them, are really good. I liked Changeling and Gran Torino a lot, and I'm curious about his new movie about Mandela. But Clint doing a supernatural thriller? That would be an interesting movie. It would be a first for him. I'm already buying the ticket and waiting in line.

Well - didn't he direct or write or both Play Misty for Me?  That was a horror film.  Anyway - anything Clint directs is going to be good.

Never seen "Play Misty For Me", but yes, Eastwood directed it, but the plot summery at IMDB sounds more like a stalker/slasher movie as opposed to supernatural.

Clint Eastwood is too mean to die.  He's the Saint of Killers!

Clownican 9/18/2009 3:37:33 PM

Clint actually did in fact die a few years ago but the grim reaper was too scared to collect his soul so he let him continue living.

Clownican, that sounds like one of those Chuck Norris facts...LOL

Play Misty For Me is more of a thriller ala Fatal Attraction. By today's standards IMO it isn't that good but back when it came out it probably was.

Like most above I'm down for anything Clint Eastwood is behind. I've enjoyed most of his films as an actor and/or director
