TO SERVE MAN author Damon Knight has died in Eugene, Ore., at age 79. Once honored as one of the big names in SF literature, Knight was part of the group known as the "Futurians." Other members included Isaac Asimov and Fredrick Pohl.


In addition to the short story TO SERVE MAN, which was the basis for the beloved TWILIGHT ZONE episode of the same name, Knight wrote ORBIT 21, A REASONABLE WORLD and TURNING POINT: ESSAYS ON THE ART OF SCIENCE FICTION.
