Dante to Direct BAT OUT OF HELL

Parallel Zide and VooDoo Productions have set Joe Dante to direct BAT OUT OF HELL.

The horror script by Drew McWeeny and Scott Swan revolves around red-eye flight from L.A. to New York during which hijackers confront the monstrous cargo.

Dante has directed such films as GREMLINS, PIRANHA, SMALL SOLDIERS, LOONEY TUNES: BACK IN ACTION and episodes of the MASTERS OF HORROR TV series.

Warren Zide will produce. Zide previously produced the FINAL DESTINATION series and AMERICAN PIE.

I thought they were finally going to make a movie using Meat Loaf's album as the basis/soundtrack. This sounds like a Sci-Fi original. Or better yet, Bats on a Muthafukin' Plane.

Sam Jackson and Rachel McAdams are the "monstrous cargo" that are confronted.
Sam is holding Rachel hostage and the hijackers break in, Sam kicks some hijacker ass, then gets it on with Rachel in a "the plane is crashing, lets have sex before we die" ending. ;p

They should just do this as a straight sequel to Snakes. Sam Jackson plays the same character, caught in the same situation, but with bats.

Dante did the story for Rock N Roll High School, saw for the first time on the big screen last weekend ib Chicago and met mary Woronov aka Principal Togar. This should be cool, wonder if he's thinkin gremlins 3?
