Darabont accepts IMPOSSIBLE mission

After first appearing at Ain't It Cool News as a rumor, now The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed Frank Darabont has been hired to write the new script for MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 3. Robert Towne had been the writer working on M:I 3 for director Joe Carnahan (NARC). No details on what mission IMF agent Ethan Hunt would be facing in Darabont's story were known.

If Darabont's draft is well received and production on M:I 3 begins later this year, the earlies we'll be watching the film is around the holidays of 2005.
