Charlie Cox is going to be Daredevil in the new Netflix series. Variety has confirmed that Cox is indeed playing the blind attorney turned crime fighter.  Charlie Cox is best known for two properties. The first being the lead in Matthew Vaughn’s Stardust. The other is in playing Owen Slater on Boardwalk Empire

Cox will play the lead in one of four individual based mini-series that take place in Hell’s Kitchen, New York. The other heroes, for this interconnecting Netflix series, include: Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. The four different interconnecting shows will culminate in a new series called The Defenders

The Daredevil series has Spartacus and Smallville alum Steven S. DeKnight as its showrunner.

Not that I have a problem with this casting, I'm more concerned with writing(and look) than the man behind the mask...

agreed!

He was solid in boardwalk empire. Backstage dustup aside I am still looking forward to this and the other series as well.

I've never really watched BE and I still haven't seen Stardust (is that sacrelige?) so I have no knowledge of the man. But knowing Marvel's track record I'm certain they've made a good choice.

However, I agree with Shogunn. I am more concerned about the writing and execution of the series. But again, its Marvel so I won't be lying awake at night about it.

Don't know this actor. But I have faith.  I love Spartacus and the actors on that show were good too. Faith in DeKnight!

Now, can they cast Paul The Big Show Wight as Kingpin?

Eldogg42 5/28/2014 9:24:52 AM

ElBaz?? Are you serious with that selection for The Kingpin??  He sounds like a mongaloid.  The Kingpin, is supposed be smart and cultured.  Clark actually did a good job in the movie, but there has got to be someone better.

He looks a little small, in height and build, but seems like a legit actor. The age seems right. Young enough to stick with the part for a while, but not too young to be believable. I hope it works out.  DeKnight is a good choice. Spartacus was excellent.

I'm dead serious. He sounds like a mongoloid as Big Show when he grabs a mic and talks to the crowd at WWE events. Just check out his interviews on talk shows. Doesn't seem as stupid as you think.

He has some acting experience too so it's not like he's a raw rookie.

He has a deep voice and the size is intimidating.

I'm usually aganist wrestlers cast as comic book characters (remember HHH as Thor rumour?) but I would back this one.

I liked him in BE but would still not cast him as DD. But then again I'm not in there during screen tests so only time will tell

Eldogg42 5/28/2014 12:23:16 PM

Maybe your right, I haven't heard/seen him in anything outside of wrestling.
