I like to pretend TDKR is A Tale of Two Cities as I practice my Nolan dick sucking.  On another note, I too hate Skip and Stephen A.  And may add Jamele Hill to the list too.

I wanted to punch Emily Owens MD through the TV when I watched that show ... how can a doctor have bricks for brains and also be smart? ... glad it got cancelled ... wait, am I?

TALIS 12/6/2012 10:08:43 PM

I will agree that TDKR was the weakest of the three, but it was still a very well done movie. Movies are more than just stories, its writing, acting, sound, effects, cinematography, editing, etc..... All those movies were well done. If you didn't like the end result thats fine. But calling something "crap" or "worthy of being a coaster" is just immature and disrespectful of the time, energy, and care people put in to making something they believe in. Say you don't like the end product, that's fine, but don't do it in a way that denegrates the dignity of the hundreds of people involved. The TDNR was an ending story to Batman in Nolans world. The point of the movie was the ending. Get that. It all lead to Batman ending. That was the point. Ya his petruding back disc being punched back into place and healing was far fetched. Many things in movies are far fetched. That doesn't make them crap. Haters need to grow up and understand people dignity need to be kept in tact when constructive criticism is applied. That's called maturity.

When I want maturity I'll visit a retirement home ;)

Look I try to keep my comments about the material at hand if some dickhead is going to call me out personally well then it's game on.

TALIS good that's your opinion but it's bullshit for the most part. If you've never taken anything to task and thrashed it well you my friend are 1 in a million but somehow I highly doubt it, because I bet we all have done it. And saying someone deserves it, like Uwe Boll for example or any other artist in any format, doesn't excuse it.

Oh and btw we said it's not worthy of being coasters ;)

And I think I brought up the plot holes and the protruding disc.  Guilty.  Once again, I never said the movie was crap.  I actually said I enjoyed it for the most part, but that it could've been better FOR ME if I weren't being distracted and trying to take time to figure out said plot holes.  That was my ONLY point.  Again, I liked the movie.  But have I seen better?  Absolutely!  Honestly, I probably wouldn't have liked it nearly as much had Tom Hardy not been in it.  I've admitted it many times on this site that I'm a huge Tom Hardy fan and would probably like just about any movie, or at least character, he's involved with.  Check out Lawless.  That movie wouldn't have been near what it was without him.

I will shout it from the mountain tops!  I have a man crush on Tom Hardy!

I also will admit that I walked out of that movie thinking it was a little disingenuous really calling it a "Batman movie" since it was basically about a broken Bruce Wayne (physically and emotionally) and Bane.  In fact, I would've been fine if they called the movie Bane.  I felt cheated by the fact that Batman was really only in the movie for a total of like 22 1/2 minutes.  And then when he did show up he was a mere shell of himself.  And I realize now that was the point, but it doesn't mean I have to like it, especially because that's not what I, or probably most people, was expecting.

I really don't get why people get so defensive if, god forbid, someone doesn't like any of these movies.

Hookedonavengers2012 12/7/2012 1:56:57 PM

tonebone....its because they cant return their dolls....I mean ummmm "action figures" if someone persuades them their favorite geek movie was

hanso 12/7/2012 2:24:24 PM

Tonebone, do you get why the get so offensive?

hanso 12/7/2012 2:31:26 PM

TDKR gets better everytime I see it. The ending is PERFECTION and laid out since Begins.

"People need dramatic examples to shake them out of apathy and I can't do that as Bruce Wayne, as a man I'm flesh and blood, I can be ignored, I can destroyed but as a symbol I can be incorruptible. I can be everlasting."
