Variety reports that Turner Broadcasting is digging deep into the budget to secure the cable TV debut of many feature films.
Topping the list are 'The Dark Knight' and 'Speed Racer'. Other major releases in the slate are '10,000 B.C.', 'Get Smart,' 'Yes Man' and 'Body of Lies'. The pickup includes previous release including the comic-based 'TMNT'.
Turner is apparently ponying up big bucks for the slate, promising to pay 11% of the theatrical gross (or cap at $250 million, whichever is less) for the rights.
