It seems that the caped crusader will be making a trip to Hong Kong sometime in the upcoming sequel, THE DARK KNIGHT. A shooting schedule for the asian tourist spot has been revealed courtesy of The Standard.

Here's the details...

Kam Nai-wai, of the Central and Western District Council, also warned residents to prepare ear-plugs as the producers intend to use a helicopter in the late hours of the day.

Kam's warning followed a district council meeting yesterday at which the distributors for The Dark Knight, a sequel to the hit movie Batman Begins, outlined how the caped crusader intends to move from Gotham City to fight his enemies who are gathering in Hong Kong.

The filming locations will include the Central-Mid-Levels escalator, some parts of Queen's Road Central and The Centre. Some areas are expected to be closed to the public during the nine days of filming.

The distributor of the movie, Warner Brothers, told the council it is seeking the approval of various government departments for the closure of some roads during filming. Kam said the road closures could cause traffic chaos if done in daytime.

"Warner Brothers also said it will use a helicopter for the filming. Of course, we are worried that the residents will be disturbed," Kam said.

The representative from the distributor assured the district council Queen's Road Central will only be blocked around midnight and that daytime shooting will take place mainly inside The Centre.

They say they're worried about the residents, but you know their only saying that. They don't give a fig newton as long as they make the picture and people think they care.
Wow that was really negative.

interesting, but how does Batman get to Hong Kong, Wayne private jet, or does this mean we see the bat plane (I highly doubt it)

Also does this mean Bats will swing a samurai sword around, cause that would be cool.

It's Hong Kong...not Japan. Hong Kong is Chinese. So a Japanese sword would be innapropriate. :D

Can you imagine if they went to Hong Kong to film chinatown scenes? lol. thats big spending there

Chinatown was my thoughts too. That or perhaps the Hong Kong scenes will be more flashbacks of Bruce's early years.

Somehow, I just don't see the epic showdown between Batman and the Joker being resolved in Hong Kong instead of Gotham.

I'm thinking it's going to be filmed in Hong Kong but it's supposed to be part of Gotham. Maybe like a Chinatown of Gotham type scene or whatnot. I doubt in the movie they'll be in Hong Kong. If anything else there using Hong Kong for a backdrop not for story.

I dfont know about flying the large crew over to Hong Kong to film a China Town scene. They could of done it in the Chinatown in SF

Yeah, if they have the money why not? How many times have people seen SF's Chinatown in other movies? This way you get a version you haven't seen before. Doesn't make sense for them to be in Hong Kong in any way. Which means I could be jumping the gun since we really don't know the plot. I doubt it's supposed to be anywhere outside of Gotham. But you never know.

This could be a flashback to his training with Ra's al Ghul. It would be great if Nolan and Bale are keeping it secret that Liam Neeson will be back and we see the Lazarus Pits in this one. After all the contract and signing news I do not remember seeing how man films Liam Neeson and Ken Watanabe signed for.

It woulld be incredible to see a 3 way show down between BATMAN and THE JOKER and Ra's Al Ghul . It would be interesting to see how Ra's reacts to possibly creating THE JOKER from his was on gotham.
