12 MONKEYS: Mentally Divergent Review (Article) - 1/25/2015 3:55:45 AM

I think I prefer the series to the original movie.  It's much slower paced and it's a bit easier to follow the story.   The original just felt very rushed, and confusing (which might have been intentional).

Doctor Who: Death in Heaven Review (Article) - 11/16/2014 4:28:11 PM

I'm guessing that Clara and Danny will be back for at least one or two episodes in the future.   They've usually been quite good at tying up the loose ends that they've left earlier on.   Colonel Pink and his great grandparents are still loose ends if Danny stays dead.  They couldn't have forgotten about him, since they've recycled elements from that episode in the finale.

Amazing Spider-Man 2 Comic-Con Teaser (Article) - 7/22/2013 3:01:15 PM

Electro is ridiculous.   A bit less ridiculous than if they direcly translated the comic character's costume, but with that stubble, the makeup and the shaved head, Jamie Foxx looks like an albino Homer Simpson.

S.H.I.E.L.D. First Look On Sunday (Article) - 5/13/2013 3:05:00 PM

Actually, I think the guy ends up looking a bit too much like Oscar Goldman in that photo.

New Doctor Who Season 7.2 IMAGES (Article) - 3/7/2013 7:04:14 AM

Clara is like the disposable companion.  It might be a cool running gag for the doc to get her killed in new and creative ways at the end of each episode, only to run into a re-incarnation of her in another time period.

Sort of like Douglas Adams' "Agrajag" character.

DC Zero Issues Review, Week 1, Part 2 (Article) - 9/7/2012 12:49:38 PM

I suspect DC's going to see a sudden drop in their sales for this month.   They don't add to the current story (the main storylines just continue on next month as if the zero books never happened), and they don't really add anything to flesh out the backstory in the new continuity.

They're absolutely optional.   They should have treated them like annuals (or just had them BE the annuals) instead of disrupting the normal release schedule.

Bill and Ted 3 Director Found (Article) - 8/15/2012 2:59:59 AM

I only see two directions for this movie:

1. Bill & Ted are working at an imaginary Walmart analog with one stuck as the stoner stockboy and the other the store manager who hates his job.   They're both divorced.    Some guy from the future shows up clad in his Matrix best to mend fences and drag the band back together to save the future.

2. Bill is a banking exec.   Ted is a corporate CEO.   Both are total douchebags that treat everyone like crap, right down to siccing the lawyers on anyone who dares to download a Wild Stallions song.   Matrix leather coat guy shows up drag the band back together and show them the error of their ways.   Grimmy makes an appearance as the ghost of (nondenominational December holiday) future.

Hopefully they come up with something a bit more imaginative.

WB Halts AKIRA (Article) - 1/26/2012 7:52:30 PM

$90 million?  Seriously, that's B budget for a sci-fi film these days.   I didn't know WB was having money troubles.
