Darkside Blues

The Review!
Audio: Darkside Blues has relatively average audio. The sound quality never really stands out, even in the scenes of action. However, the movie does have great dubbing.

Video: The video is actually pretty good in this movie. The effects such as lights and shadows are all rendered very well, and there is very little, if any, pixelation.

Packaging: I liked the packaging of Darkside Blues. It featured the movie's main character standing in the middle, in front of a shattering mirror.

Menus: The menu in Darkside Blues is excellent. In the background, a scene from the movie plays while you make your menu selection. The menus also move pretty fast, and are simply designed very well.

Content: At first, Darkside Blues sounded like a great anime to me. However, I unfortunately discovered, it was not the great movie I was looking for. The movie revolves around a group of outlaws trying to destroy the Persona Century Company. Characters are quickly introduced, and little attention is payed to them. In fact, by the end of the movie, I couldn't remember half of the characters' names.

Extras: The main extra feature in this movie that is of any importance is the WebConnex contained on the DVD.

Watching this movie, I expected something to happen. I expected action scenes where this group tries to take down Persona Century. I finished the movie, and I was still waiting, dissapointed. Nothing noteworthy happens here. Essentially, this movie is all talk, and no walk.

Then, there's the mysterious character, Darkside, who won't stop talking about renewal. What is this "renewal"? I never found out. What does it have to do with anything that's happening? I never found that out either.

By the end of the movie, you'll still be so filled with questions it's not even funny. The ending is abrupt, and like most of the other content of this movie, dissapointing. If you like movies where nothing happens, you will love Darkside Blues.
