The Passion of the Christ paved the way for the inevitable biblical movies, and this is one of them. Was Noah really the first person to drink wine and get drunk. If this is true, then he's responsible for that wonderful thing known as alcoholism.

Aronofksy's not read Matthew 24:38 For as they were in those days before the flood, eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark. I hope Aronofksy checks his source material a little better. If Noah plants a vineyard he will have to wait several years to make any wine. And as it contain a event involving a grown grandson it would have been decades later. Some people will always misuses things, alcohol, drugs, freedom.

Hands down, Aronofsky's a damn fine filmmaker. I think he can make this a watchable biblical flick (not holy torture porn, by way of Mel Gibson). jon41380- I'm not trying to be a jerk when I ask this, but how exactly does disregarding one's religion equal out to hating other races? I have no problem with one's beliefs, as long as one has the common sense and common decency to not force it on another. Living in Virginia, I have that problem constantly and it wears thin excrutiatingly quickly. For some of us, we don't do it to be hateful; but rather, we do it because it's a way of retorting. And atheists are just as guilty of that "forced beliefs" garbage as "Bat shit crazy catholics" supposedly are. Take that bdd guy. Yeah, Man discovered religion. But it was also Man that ruined it for everyone else.

Actually I have read a lot of the Bible, obviously you have not. It contradicts itself every other page. Full of bullshit "sins" like not working on Sunday or you will get stoned, planting two crops in one field is a sin, wearing cloth made fom two types of material is a sin, having long hair is an abomination. Who had long hair? Oh yeah Jesus. And what does it say about slavery? Oh yeah that's fine, God doesn't seem to have an issue with that. So how about you read the Bible or shut the fuck up. It was writen by a group of asshole drunks and then was edited! So much for the word of god! They added parts to it so the Church could make money, like selling fish on Fridays. it's a bunch of bullshit I find amazing people follow. If the Bible is the word of god than it shouldn't be edited, and we are all going to hell because everythnig is a sin. But instead the Church's racists, homophobic sexist assholes try to spread lies and call it "the word of god". That sickens me and that should sicken anyone who believes that god is a caring creature.

So... who's already got their tickets for Spider-Man?

Someone's religion is something that usually is deeply ingrained within them. Usually their whole family is apart of their religion. It is something a lot of people are actively involved in many days out of the week. It's an important issue that many people feel make them who they are. When someone attacks that, it is a personal attack, whether it is on them specifically or on the religion in general. Insults about someones race is taken in a similar manner. It will probably offend them whether the comment is made to them directly or if the comment was a generalization.
