David Fincher Adapts THE KILLER

Based on the 1988 French graphic novel.

David Fincher will be heading back behind the camera after Paramount Pictures acquired the rights to the graphic novel THE KILLER, reports Variety. The pic will be produced by Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment and Alexandra Milchan. Allesandro Camon is developing the script based off Alexis Nolent's 1988 graphic novel.

Plot Concept: Centers on a top assassin suddenly plagued by his conscience and a highly competent cop hot on his tail.

For a second there, I thought it was referring to John Woo's The Killer. Don't really know anything about this one.

actually it still sounds like john woos the killer. he was a assassin that got a conscience after he shot a girl in the face by accident making her blind and a cop that is hot on his trail.

Don't know anything about this one, but Fincher is my movie god. I will see anything he does. Wonder if Pitt will make an appearance...

Your movie god? That's high praise, unless you have several movie gods. I think he has done some really good work (Fight Club is my favorite) but I won't put him on the elite club yet. However I will see this even though it sounds like Woo's movie. And having the same title is not going to help it distinguish itself.

What's really bizarre is that the graphic novel predates Woo's movie by a year and they're so similar. I wonder if the GN was inspired by Le Samourai as well.
