eh...Jack the Ripper has been done so many times (even done by Star Trek!) it would take a really good movie to impress me much.

From Hell with ol Johnny Depp was pretty good IMO...

From Hell is one of the few Jack the Ripper tales I actually own, very well done. Great performances by Depp, and Holm.

This is actually the fourth time The Lodger will be adapted as a movie. And for those complaining about too many remakes of recent movies today, note that two of The Lodger adaptations were only nine years apart (1944 & 1953). At least this is the first new remake in over 50 years.

It's interesting that they are calling it a remake of Hitchcock's silent movie rather than just an adaptation of the novel...

I've always liked the ripper story, but don't know if I'm up for yet another version.

I always think it takes big balls to remake a Alfred Hitchcock movie. My favorite ripper one was that one with the time machine. What was that called?

"Time After Time"... it's my favorite too...

Time after Time was really good, David Warner played a great Jack the Ripper

Please, Movie Gods, hear my prayer! If it is to be a remake, please make it a 100% faithful remake, in black and white and with all of the style and panache of the original without changing a thing instead of the usual diarrhea-fest that occurs with Hollywood "remakes" and "reimaginings"...don't update it! Please leave it a period piece!
