Famed producer David Zucker sat down with USA Today and discussed a brief bit about the upcoming Superhero Movie, a spoof on the latest batch of superhero movies we've seen in theaters as of late. A new photo featuring stars Drake Bell and Christopher McDonald, which you see on your left.

"It's predominantly Spider-Man, but we satirize Batman Begins, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Superman, everything," Zucker says. "It's a spoof of the whole superhero genre, like we did with the Scary Movies, but this one probably has more of a unified plot, like the Naked Guns had."

Describing the villain: "He's dying of some rare disease, and he invents a machine where he can continue to live, as long as he kills a lot of people," Zucker says. "The only one who can stop him is Dragonfly."

Regina Hall and Tracy Morgan spoof Halle Berry's white-haired Storm and Patrick Stewart's psychic Dr. Xavier from X-Men. Meanwhile, Leslie Nielsen plays Bell's uncle, à la Spider-Man's Uncle Ben.

Superhero Movie will hit theaters March 28, 2008.

I hope it's not just lame gag after lame gag. I would like something of a story.

Well, if you look at the track record of the Zuckers,,,,not including KFM, their movies do have a plot (weak or not), and just have tons of gags in them,,,,I am all for this movie,,,,,I can't wait to see a trialer.

The only spoof movie I can say I ever liked, or own is Galaxy Quest. Some may argue its not a spoof movie, but to me it is. I cant say I liked any of the recent spoof movies.

This is good news. The recent spat of parody comedies have all stunk. I would have talked about how bad Scary Movies are except that they are gems compared to Date Movie, Epic Movie, Meet the Spartans . . . Zucker has a good track record for this sort of film AND saying that there's a unifying plot makes me happy. Unless the trailers suck, I'll probably give this a shot.

I am forced to agree with Merlin. some of the latest "spoof" movies that have ome out were not very good at all. Meet the Spartans should have been way funnier that it was. I laughfed so little at that movie that I was forced to go see Rambo to get the bad taste out of my mouth. And remember what Rambo says, "Die for nothing, or live for something!"

Didn't Zucker direct Scary Movie 3 & 4?.......why is it good news he's involved with this one, other than the fact that it isn't the retards behind Movie and Spartans? They should've gone talk to Apatow. Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox story was better than all the recent spoofs put together.

I still think the best superhero parody was done before its time and the same director is attached to this film. Now that doesn't mean that Zucker won't fill it with too many groaners and stupidity, but it is at least a hope. Did anybody watch 2000 release of "The Specials" with Rob Lowe, Thomas Hayden Church, Jamie Kennedy and an amazing cast with them? It was more of a mockumentary but bloody hilarious! The Weevil: The government gives the Crusaders all the best gigs. The Specials, Goddamn, it's like being last sailor in line behind the whore. *************************** Minute Man: The great thing about not getting the person that you love is that you can still think about that person and masturbate, which is essentially the same thing. **************************** Deadly Girl: I used to think I didn't need a family. I mean, I had the demons and the walking skeletons. But the difference between a walking skeleton and a kid is, a kid won't eat the soft parts of your face while you're sleeping. Watch it and enjoy...

Maybe this will be good since Leslie Nielsen is in it. I still think hes the spoof king just thinking back on the Naked Gun Movies, Airplane, Wrongfully Accused, etc.

We're getting too many superhero spoofs.
