Director Andrew Davis (COLLATERAL DAMAGE, THE FUGUTIVE) is looking to direct a story based on a true-life incident that almost resulted in another world war.
Davis is one of a group of producers who have taken an option on Clyde Burleson's book THE JENNIFER PROJECT, which will be developed as a film called 3 MILES DOWN.
The book told the true story of a CIA/U.S. Navy operation to salvage a Soviet submarine that had sunk in international waters, sitting at the bottom of the the sea under three miles of water. Howard Hughes was eventually called in to provide assistance in constructing a huge ship that would secretly carry a three-mile long, concealed salvage arm, in order to bring up the sub and attain its technical secrets.
A script for the project is currently being written by Nicolas Falacci and Cheryl Heuton.
