A new sci-fi comic book series will be getting the big screen treatment soon courtesy of Davis Entertainment(I, Robot). The production shingle has acquired the rights to Boom Studios' sci-fi comic book series North Wind, based on David DiGilio's comic series. They're bringing David to adapt the screenplays of the five comics, three of which have been released so far and are available for free downloads here. John Davis will produce the live-action feature alongside Boom co-founders Andrew Cosby and Ross Richie via their Boom Entertainment. DiGilio will executive produce.
Plot Concept: The story takes place in a futuristic Los Angeles, years after global warming has created a new ice age. Most survivors live under the ice and are ruled by a dictator who exiles some citizens to the harsh environment outdoors. His cruel actions cause one of the exiles to lead a revolution.
I(t does sound interesting. But I think I'll wait for the movie, I don't want to be disappointed when they eventually disregard the book and just rape the original story.
So why didn't they just move south?
Wouldn't that be better than living under miles of firn?
On lack of logic and science this is based, yet for some darn reason it sounds interesting to me too.
Oh and that was great madmaniac.
