Commercial director Zack Snyder has landed the job of filming the dead walk. Snyder will be the top man behind the lens of the DAWN OF THE DEAD remake, originally made by horror master George Romero. The new version was written by James Gunn (SCOOBY-DOO) and, while it takes the original DAWN's premise, adds new elements to the tale.
The first DAWN OF THE DEAD chronicled the last stand of four people holed up inside a shopping mall while the rest of the world slowly collapsed as the dead rose up and attacked the living. Gunn's version has added more than a dozen new people living inside the mall and will also show us the effects of the dead plague upon other creatures such as dogs.
Filming is scheduled to commence in June although no casting decisions have been announced so far.
